Hi friends,
Today I am sharing a fun mini version of my Snowflake quilt pattern - this one is the Phosphor mini version. Phosphor is a quilt line by Libs Elliott for Andover Fabrics. Phosphor is a super bright collection that has a denim look to it, it really gives me a fun 80's / 90's vibe. You can enjoy 30% off all Snowflake PDF patterns for January 2026 Pattern of the month.

The Snowflake quilt is my take on a modern and minimalist winter quilt. There are so many versions on ways to make this quilt pattern, including this stripe layout - just using the coloring sheet that is included.
If you would like to bring this quilt home you can find it for sale in my shop here.
Fabric Information:

I received this bundle of Phosphor back in 2020 when it first came out - how fun are these colors?! I was born in 1980 so it immediately brought me back to come jean shorts I had growing up - the neons - the denim look - it's just the most fun!
I knew I wanted to try something a little bit different for the layout - but keeping with the scrappy layout assembly - squares and HST - but smaller.
Using the coloring sheet that comes with the pattern is super helpful - I was able to mock this up in illustrator beforehand to see if I liked the way that the colors flowed.

For my backing and binding I used Moda Bella in shade Citrine.
Making the Quilt:

I used the layout and did rows of 6 colors per block (12 colors total) - and cut my squares and squares for HST 1" smaller than the pattern requires.
This made for a quilt that is "mini" sized perfect for a wall hanging or even a baby quilt.

The squares were definitely smaller but still easy to work with.

Quilting Information:

I decided to keep it pretty simple and use an off white thread and do a straight line stitch through the points of the squares, creating an x through each one.
This texture looks amazing on the regular size quilt so I knew that it would be fun here - and honestly it turned out perfect!

Look at that texture! It's just amazing and was fun to quilt as well.

For my binding, I used the same Citrine Moda Bella shade that I used for the backing, it coordinates with the Phosphor so well.

I found some yellow auriful thread for some big hand stitch binding and added two of my woven labels!
Finished Quilt:

I love how this one turned out - perfect for a wall hanging or even a winter baby quilt! I will have it listed in my shop available to purchase here if you are interested.
