Hi friends,
Today I am sharing the first Presents quilt sample - the Speckled Cover Version! The Presents quilt is a fun, festive design perfect for celebrating the joy of giving all year long! Whether you use traditional holiday hues or go for a playful modern palette, the Presents quilt is sure to bring cheer to your home. This version of the Presents quilt was created using a fun assortment of Speckled fabric by Ruby Star Society for Moda fabrics in a holiday color palette. I usually make quilt samples in solids but this is such an "almost solid" fabric but with a bit of fun - it was a perfect match!

Quilt Sizes:
- Runner 12" x 72"
- Throw 72" x 72"
- Bed 96" x 96"

This is a confident beginner friendly pattern that uses traditional piecing - no curves or templates needed this time friends! I have included coloring sheet printouts in all three sizes and a fabric planning block guide to help you sort out your fabrics and colors. There are also cutting diagram links and printable cutting tag sheets to help keep you organized.

I have also included the throw and bed size layouts over at PreQuilt for you to color online with solids and prints from most major fabric companies.

Layout + Fabrics:
Presents is a yardage friendly quilt pattern, meaning that it's not super pre-cut friendly (but you could totally make this using fat quarters - the cuts in the pattern will allow for this - I do not have full instructions for this included). You can use solids for the background of the presents and then add fun fabrics for the presents - using a fat quarter bundle or dig into your holiday scraps! I will be sharing a runner made from all holiday fabric / color scraps later this week.

This particular layout uses a modern holiday palette of Speckled fabrics by Ruby Star Society for all five colors.
- Fabric A: Speckled Confetti
- Fabric B: Speckled Ice Box
- Fabric C: Speckled Verdant
- Fabric D: Speckled Warm Red
- Fabric E: Speckled Flamingo
Backing: Speckled Ice Box
Binding: Speckled Warm Red

You can find quilt kits here - while supplies last!

Quilting:
This quilting was by my friends over at Trace Creek Quilting using the panto: Christmas Star. I love how the curvy quilting shapes really stand out against the sharp lines of the presents blocks.

The design really stands out against the backing fabric as well - I love using a solid, or an almost solid when I have something professionally quilted because it just stands out so much more!

I did my binding by hand using big stitch for a fun handmade look and had a chance to use some of my snowflake and 2025 woven labels - you can find those here while supplies last!
