Today I am sharing a new "holiday" version of one of my favorite quilt pattern Blooms. Designed as a companion to the original Blooms quilt pattern, this seasonal twist transforms your petals into holiday-inspired poinsettias. Perfect for Christmas sewing or winter decor, the Blooms - Poinsettia quilt featuring Tiny Christmas by Lizzy House for Moda fabrics features a fun mix or pink, coral, red and green - perfect for the holiday season.
The add-on includes all the information needed to modify a throw size (72" x 72") Blooms quilt using fat quarters for the blooms. Pair it with holiday prints or solids for a modern Christmas quilt that's both timeless and bold.

Layout + Fabrics:
This layout uses the fat quarter layout in the pattern, or 15 fat quarters for the Blooms part of the pattern. This is enough fabric for the 17 total visible flowers on the throw size layout - full size, 3/4 size and the half size (the half size uses 1 fabric for 2 halves). Since we are doing Poinsettias we removed fabric H from the pattern and are using squares for the centers instead of utilizing the B arch and curve used in the original pattern instructions.
For the fabrics - I chose to work with the new line Tiny Christmas by Lizzy House for Moda fabrics. I was drawn to the line because I have always been a fan of Lizzy's adorable illustrations, but the different shades of green and various reds and pinks felt like a perfect pick for a quilt of poinsettias!

I was excited to send this one off to be quilted by my friend Lilo over at Trace Creek Quilting because she had the most perfect panto design in her library.

Not only is the design beautiful - it was just such a fun match for the feminine look of the quilt pattern and the fabric design.
For my binding I did a big stitch hand binding using a matching green thread.
