Hi friends,
I am starting the process of digging up my older tutorials from my previous blogs and wanted to share this project from July of 2014 with you all again! This Countdown to Christmas Advent Chain in a cute, and reusable twist on the classic paper chain we all loved as kids.

Each day in December, remove a link and watch the chain grow shorter as Christmas draws near! Not only is it a fun family tradition, but it's also a great scrap busting project - perfect for mixing your favorite holiday fabrics, prints and solids.
To make this easier to follow along I am formatting all of my tutorials and free quilt projects in PDF form. Easy to download and print or view on your device of choice.

Materials needed:
- 24 fabric pieces cut into 3" x 10" strips
- Therm O Web - Heat n Bond Craft Fuse - cut into 2.5" x 9.5" strips
- Snaps - I used plastic KAM snaps (velcro also works)
- Washable school glue
- Sewing machine and notions (coordinating thread, rotary cutter and mat, scissors, pins or clips)

I made this one so long ago I am not sure I have all of my chains still - so it's a perfect time to dig through my holiday fabrics and scraps and make a new one!

I love the simplicity of using plastic KAM snaps as well. These are my go to snaps for kids projects and bibs - easy to use and no sharp pieces. You can also substitute velcro pieces as well.

If you make this project please tag me over on social media or send me a message - love to see your creativity!
Thanks for stopping by friends,
Nicole
