Blooms Quilt - Enrapture Version

HI friends,

Today I am sharing another Blooms quilt sample - the Enrapture Version. This version of the Blooms quilt was created using an upcoming line by one of my longest and dearest quilt friends - Giuseppe Ribaudo aka Giucy Giuce. Enrapture is his first collection with Freespirit Fabrics and is a beautiful moody floral collection that was a perfect match for my Blooms pattern!

Baby 48" x 48"
Throw 72" x 72"

Layout + Fabrics:

This layout uses the yardage instructions with fat quarters for the flowers - so I could use more of the collection and have a larger assortment of colors for the flowers. Entrapture features florals, tiles and tonal geometrics in shades of gold, teal, purple and gray. Several of the floral fabrics are just so stunning in person - it was hard to cut the fabric!

This pattern works beautifully when there are two shades of green to choose from - for the split leaves - so I was so excited to see how well these two paired up!

Fabrics below are by fabric requirements listed on the pattern for the baby size quilt. The only changes are the flower fabrics B, C, D + E are listed in FQ instead of the half yardage needed.

F - Amour Turquoise
G - Vining Verdant
H - Carnelian

I had a chance to catch up with Giuseppe and see some of his beautiful quilts this past May at H + H Americas in the Chicago area.

Quilting:

For this quilting I decided to do a wavy stitch using my janome 6700p, spaced at 3/4" wide. I used a green thread that coordinated with my quilt backing and several of the leaf colors on the front of the quilt. There were enough darker colors that I felt like it would blend nicely against most of the shades.
