Hi friends!
Instead of just sharing finished quilts (especially since they take a while to make) I thought it might be fun to start sharing some works in progress.
I always enjoy seeing progress images of crafts and home projects. Learn about the process a bit more and see if there are any tips to learn along the way.
This weeks Work in Progress is a throw size Beads quilt I am making using a beautiful bundle of the new Sprout Wovens by Fableism.
Fabric Details
Sprout Wovens are a beautiful yarn-dyed woven fabric created by Fableism. You can find these fabrics in several quilt shops now and they come in a fantastic assortment of earthy color palettes.
Fableism Supply Co. is a small family owned manufacturing company - you can learn a bit more about them here.
Andrea also runs Cottoneer - which is one of my favorite online quilt shops! She sent me this lovely stack of Sprout Wovens to make a project with, and I chose to make my most recent pattern - Beads - with the line.
Beads Quilt has a nice color transition with the block placement so any type of ombre looks amazing.
Quilt Progress
I found the woven material to be pretty easy to work with, to be honest I was a bit worried about sewing curves.
It frays just slightly more than an essex linen that I am used to sewing with, but is completely manageable and presses so nicely!
I had no issues with any of the blocks in the Beads quilt using this fabric.
The small woven X adds the perfect amount of texture on the quilt. When sewing just be mindful of the print as it is more prominent on one side of the fabric.
I am almost done adding my sashing rows and then I need to select a fabric for the backing!
Keeping WIP Projects Organized
You might already be familiar with my free printout - the Quilt Project Worksheet - but if not you can get a free copy by signing up for the Modern Handcraft newsletter - here.
There are spaces for quilt info / fabric info / steps for making the quilt / photographing and even blogging!
I like to keep mine in a binder and have extra sheets ready to go for my next quilt project!
Want to make your own binder? My favorites are listed below:
I keep all of my quilt project sheets organized by quilt pattern - so it makes a great way to keep track of your projects and have a reference of what you have created!
Thanks for stopping by the blog today friends, I cannot wait to finish this quilt up and share with you soon!
Happy sewing,
Nicole

I like the way you have organized your projects with the pages and putting them in a binder. Easy to see deets about the quilts and refresh the mind about the final location of the quilt (if I did all the work on that one piece of paper — LOL). That fabric is so nice. Thanks.
