Hi friends,
Today I am sharing the first Ripple quilt sample - the Bella Cover Version! This version of the Ripple quilt was created using a beautiful selection of Bella solids by Moda fabrics and is also the cover version for the pattern. I LOVE making quilts using solids and this quilt is a great example of how fun a solids quilt can be - just choose your two or seven favorite colors and you will have a bold modern quilt of your own!

Quilt Sizes:
- Baby 41" x 48"
- Throw 65" x 72"
- Bed 90" x 96"
Layout + Fabrics:

Ripple is a yardage friendly quilt pattern meaning that it's not super pre-cut friendly (you could make this using Fat quarters - the cuts in the pattern will allow for this - I do not have full instructions for this included). This particular quilt uses the multi color layout which consists of seven fabrics. I would recommend a solid or a non-directional print for this pattern. If you do choose prints, breaking them up with a few solids will help with the flow of the layout and not feel too busy. This layout and simple color palette really makes for a bold and minimalist modern look that makes for a great gender neutral quilt layout.

I used Bella solids for this quilt and also offer kits in my shop for this exact quilt top layout!

Quilting:

Ok, the real star of the show on this Ripple quilt is definitely the quilting and how it's an absolute PERFECT match for the design. My friends over at Trace Creek Quilting and I have been working together for a while and when I sent over some ideas for the panto - she really worked her magic!! This panto is called Arches and the texture and design just make me so incredibly happy! When making a curved pattern I almost want to go the opposite direction with the quilting and choose something a bit more sharp and angular but THIS was definitely the right move.

I give Lilo full control of thread color and she chose a light peach which was just perfect.
