Finally popping back on the blog today to share some fun news! My latest pattern Phase is now available as a PDF download!
The Phase Quilt is a lunar inspired medallion quilt. Using two block styles, half square triangles and curve blocks, this intermediate level quilt comes together quickly.
My original inspiration for this quilt were from a couple of things I would sing / say to my son when he was just a baby - “I love you to the moon and back” and “You are my sunshine”. I wanted to keep construction easy and enjoyable and make for a fun and fast sew!
Instructions include 1-color and 4-color fabric requirements.
4-Color / Cover Quilt using Bella Solids
My cover quilt shown here was created using a beautiful monochrome color palette of Moda Bella Solids.

The quilting was done by the talented Kaitlyn of Knot + Thread Design - the design is called Deep Blue.
1-Color Quilt using Enchanted - the Kona color of the year
This simple version just uses one phase color and one background color, really letting the design take center stage.
This one is currently being quilted - can’t wait to share more with you soon!
4-Color Quilt using Kona solids from stash
This one was made using random solids from my stash so I do not have current colors set - will try and get those figured out for you guys.
I left the borders off of this one and just made the center medallion section. Makes for a nice square throw size quilt.
I backed this quilt with Shadow print from CF Collection by Carolyn Friedlander - the architectural image gives me some moon crater vibes.
I quilted this using white thread / straight line quilting spaced at 3/4” apart on my Janome M7 Machine.
4-Color You are my Sunshine quilt
This is another one of those random solids pull again - this time creating a sunshine look!
For the backing I used another print from CF Collection by Carolyn Friedlander called Orangeade.
I quilted this with white thread / straight line quilting spaced at 1” apart on my Janome M7 Machine.
Baby Quilt
The baby version of the Phase quilt uses the main middle section of the quilt layout giving us all the best parts. This one is a bit more flexible with fabrics so you can use less or more on the HST. Use the coloring sheet included in the pattern to work out the design to your liking - so many possibilities!
The fabrics used on this quilt are from Spectrastatic by Giucy Giuce for Andover Fabrics.
-
Background - Stellar
-
Middle Circle - Dust
-
Second Color - Tar

Third Color - Lunar
I hand quilted this one using coordinating Aurifil 12 wt thread and made some fun crescent moon shapes in the outer curve blocks.
4-Color Spectrastatic Quilt
Now for one of my favorites!! This was the first version I made using Spectrastatic by Giucy Giuce for Andover Fabrics and the colors just pop in the best way possible.

I quilted this with black thread - straight line quilting spaced .5” apart on my Janome M7 machine.
