Hi friends,

Today I am SO exited to share with you my latest modern quilt pattern - Blooms! Blooms is a bold floral pattern that embraces curved piecing. You may choose from four different sizes and multiple color-way options. It's also fat quarter, yardage and scrappy friendly - read more below about my newest pattern.

Quilt Sizes:

  • Baby 48" x 48"
  • Throw 72" x 72"
  • Bed 80" x 96"
  • King 104" x 96"

Layout Options:

For this quilt pattern, the fabric options are completely customizable. There is yardage and FQ listed for each part of the quilt - and you can pick what parts you would like to keep as yardage or use fat quarters or scraps for the rest!

Yardage Layout:

This layout uses yardage for each part of the quilt, background / flowers / leaves and center. Choose from four different fabrics / colors for your flowers, two fabrics / colors for your leaves and one fabric for your centers. This is a bold, minimalist modern look that is perfect in solids, all prints or a combination of both!

I used Bella solids for my cover quilt and will have a separate blog post for it in a couple of days.

Fat Quarter + Yardage Layout:

This layout uses fat quarters and yardage. The fabric requirements lists the minimum number of fat quarters needed for each part (background, flowers, leaves and center) You may add more to have a wider variety of colors / prints. I used a fq bundle of Beyond Bella fabrics in a rainbow of colors, a total of 17 fq for my flowers. The pattern requires 16, but I opted to have a different color for each flower on this layout to really show off the rainbow flow. To make the quilt less busy I chose to keep the centers and two leaf colors the same and use the yardage instructions.

Scrappy Layout:

For the final sample I have a baby quilt that is completely scrappy! I based my fabric pull on the FQ requirements but added a bit more for a scrappier look. I did stick with the four different color sections in the pattern: Colors B, C, D, E for my scraps - chose a selection of light greens and dark greens, yellows in a similar shade and then low volume FQ for my background fabrics. There is a fat quarter and scrappy cutting chart in the pattern that lists the required number of each fabric and how many of each cut needed so you can easily cut a variety of fabrics.
