Hi friends,
Today I am sharing another option that you have with the Increase pattern - mixing up all of your completed blocks into a scrappy layout!
This particular quilt was made using a new line that is currently available at most quilt shops - Stay Gold my Melody Miller for Ruby Star Society / Moda Fabrics.
This line is full of vibrant colors and a range of prints that goes from large scale florals to tiny supporting prints.
I started this quilt back in April when I got some sample yardage and loved the pink shades the most! For the layout, I stuck with making the blocks as normal but placed them all over in a scrappy layout. I chose to use the larger scale florals on the larger plus shapes - and the smaller scale prints on the thinner plus shapes.
For the quilting I chose a natural shade thread and did a straight line stitch with a 1” spacing using my spacing bar.
When I chose art work for my living room I really didn’t know it would match so many of my current projects! I guess I knew I loved these colors so much, so working with this line was pure joy.
I decided to take some photos outside and nearly got attacked by wasps….then I tried using my quilt stand and the wind was blowing it over. I’m sure my neighbors enjoyed the show!
Finally found a nice, calm spot under this tree. Wouldn’t you love to have a picnic on this quilt?
