Dot + Dashalong Week 6

Hi friends and welcome to week 6 of the Dot + Dashalong!

Dot + Dashalong Week 6 - Modernhandcraft.com

This is the last week we will be sewing up blocks - then we are on to sashing, sewing our rows together and finishing up our quilt tops!

This is the most exciting week for the sew along because we finally get to see the last of our colors / fabrics come together.

This week we are sewing our next group of fabrics: 10 - 11 - 12

If you are going scrappy with your layout you will be sewing up the following blocks:

  • (4) 4.5” Blocks

  • (3) 10.5” Blocks

Blocks for Fabrics 10 - 11 - 12

If you are working with specific fabrics for fabrics labeled 10 - 11 - 12, we will be sewing those into a total of 7 blocks this week. Since I am working my way down the rainbow, my colors this week are in the purple / pink family.

I am working on finishing a Dot + Dash quilt that I started last year when I released the pattern. How fun is the Spooky n Sweet fabric line by Art Gallery fabrics? They actually released a second line this year using some of the same illustrations and new colors - called Spooky n Sweeter.

Next Week

Next week we will start sewing blocks together - the end is near!! I’m on the hunt for backing fabrics for all of the Dot + Dash quilts I have been working on during the sew along. I’m thinking one at least needs some soft cuddle fabric.

Week 7: September 27th Checklist

  • Sew 10.5” sashing to complete rows

Thank you so much for sewing along with us this week and I cannot wait to see all of your final blocks coming together! We have some awesome participation over on Instagram using the hashtag #dotanddashalong if you want to get a peek and also on the Modern Handcraft Patterns group page on Facebook! Here is the progress on one of our MH patterns group members - don’t you just love this muted rainbow palette?

See you next week, Happy Sewing!
