Asterisks Quilt Pattern Release Day

Hi friends!

My newest pattern Asterisks is now available and I am beyond excited!! The Asterisks quilt is a great beginner friendly pattern with a midcentury modern vibe. I wanted to give you, the maker a bit of flexibility when making this pattern so I included a few different options for making the quilt - we can call it a “choose your own adventure quilt”.

For example:

• For the asterisks you can choose from all 1-color, multi color (like the one shown above) or scrappy asterisks (this is a great way to use your scrap bin)

• For the background you can choose from a solid 1-color background or make it scrappy

Below we have an example of 1-color asterisks with 1-color background, multi color asterisks with 1-color background and 1-color asterisks with scrappy background

• Choose a bold color palette like the cover quilt for a fun pop in any room of the house.

• A red white and blue palette would make for a fun fourth of July quilt - the asterisks can be stars or fireworks.

• Any background with white asterisks can be used as a winter quilt - the asterisks can be snowflakes.

Asterisks Sample Quilts

Below are a few of the samples I made during the testing phase - I really like to go a bit bonkers with how many quilts I make before I send the pattern to testers to look over. I will share a blog post for each quilt in the next couple of weeks giving you info on how I quilted them and also fabric information.

Peach Terrazzo Small Throw / Fabric is Rainbow Dust by Kate X Kasey for PBS Fabrics. I chose the peach, pink and yellow terrazzo prints from the line for a multi color asterisks quilt.

Blue Terrazzo Large Throw / Fabric is Rainbow Dust by Kate X Kasey for PBS Fabrics. I chose the blue, green and purple terrazzo prints from the line for a multi color asterisks quilt.

Holly Holidays Scrappy Large Throw / Fabrics are from the new line Holly Holidays by Christopher Thomson for Riley Blake Fabrics, paired with white asterisks or “snowflakes” for this scrappy version of the asterisks quilt.

Cover Quilt Large Throw / Fabrics for this are all Moda Bella Solids - Colors are listed under the Fabric Requirements chart. This is a multi color asterisks version.

Rainbow Scrappy Large Throw / Fabrics are Century Solids by Andover Fabrics, this is a scrappy version of the asterisks pattern using all solids. Quilting by my friend Katie Hanson of Modern Textiles - I cannot wait to show you more soon!!!

Snowflake Cuddle Small Throw / Fabrics are Blossom in the color Denim by Christopher Thompson for Riley Blake and white solid for the asterisks “snowflakes”, the backing is a Shannon fabrics Minkky Luxe Cuddle Hide in Natural.
