Hi friends!
Today I am over the moon excited to share a new line of fabric called Foundation - by my friend Shayla Wolf (Sassafrass Lane Designs) for Windham Fabrics. This fabric is totally up my alley - super modern bright colors with white hand-drawn patterns that are different on each one! I feel like these not only work well on their own, but would make a fantastic addition to your stash as the colors work so well with other lines. You can start to find this fabric in your local fabric shops this March - so be on the lookout!
The project I chose to make was a fun one for me, a new pattern I decided to release today called Peak. Peak quilt is the third quilt in my solid series, designs focusing on solid fabrics and negative space. These patterns are perfect for solids - but since this is almost a solid I wanted to give it a go, and it was the perfect match.
I used one of the coloring sheets that is available with the pattern to plan out my colors. The previous Peak quilts I have sewn up have a more random look, but once you see this colorway you will want to keep in color order as much as possible. After cutting up my fabrics and laying them out to match my design I went to work.
Don't you just love a good rainbow?!
Here are some pics of the finished Peak quilt below, I decided to go with the Kid size, as it would make the perfect addition to a nursery or kiddos room!
For the backing I used some fun black and white text flannel from JoAnn Fabric store.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Happy sewing friends,
Nicole
