Modern Handcraft Palette Picks Bundle for Robert Kaufman

I'm so excited to share the new Modern Handcraft Palette Picks bundle for Robert Kaufman! A Palette Picks fat quarter bundle is a curated bundle by a designer for Robert Kaufman that includes a fun selection of solids and textures. 

Quilt shops can order the Modern Handcraft Palette Picks bundle from Robert Kaufman or Checker Distributors. You can find this bundle in your favorite shop starting in November - ask your quilt shop for the Modern Handcraft bundle so they are sure to carry it. 

I have been a big fan of Kona solids since the beginning of my sewing journey and mostly use solids to this day! When they approached me for this opportunity I knew I just had to do it and then try and figure out what kind of palette would be fun for my introduction into the palette picks designer club.

I gravitate towards very saturated bold colors and I love working with black and white so I knew that this bundle would likely be a mix of both. The two fabrics I always end up using as my background on my quilts is likely a white or black essex linen, so using the black essex linen as my inspiration I got to work!

I love the combination of solids and essex linen - the texture it creates on quilts is just amazing. The bundle I created has a nice almost 50/50 mix of Kona solids and essex linen blends. These are fun to use together in a project or separate for different projects. This bundle contains 20 fat quarters so there is just enough for a larger quilt or a few smaller sewn items. 

There are 8 Essex linen blends and 12 Kona solids in this collection. 

Narrowing down the exact colors I wanted to use was a little daunting, there were so many to choose from! I think I have another 5 color combos for some future palette picks - it was so much fun!

You can get so many different looks by grouping different fabrics from the bundle. Below are some options that I played around with.

Essex Linen group

For the Essex blends I knew I wanted to add in some of my favorites and also make a combo that went together nicely. 

Kona Cotton Group

The Kona solids I selected acted as a nice connector to the essex blends in the bundle. Some of my favorite colors: Wasabi, Roasted Pecan and Chili are in this selection.
